Non-Stick Cooking Surfaces

My boyfriend wants to purchase an indoor non-stick grill for me. I've heard that non-stick surfaces could potentially be dangerous for those on gluten free diets. Do you think it would still be ok if we purchased the non-stick grill and used it only for gluten free products?
